Pub Net Tries to Weasel Out of Having To Testify In Ellora's Cave Suit {ReBlog}

Reblogged from Grey Warden:

As a friend said: this is why you should *always* get a lawyer.

This just in: Pub Net- thatTwitter account that so vigorously stands behind Ellora's Cave- sent a... well, it's a fax, I can say that much... letter to the judge presiding over the Ellora's Cave defamation case trying to wriggle out of having to appear as witnesses in the trial, aka- have their identities revealed.  What follows is some Bugs Bunny lawyerspeak, highlighted by the use of such pillars of legalese like "stalker trolls", "troll", "vicious troll" and "jealousy of authors".

They also cite STGRB blogposts as their evidence as why they shouldn't have to appear.  Yep. Click the link to see it.

Pub Net Sends Ridiculous Request to the Judge

All of the above is used in an attempt to compel the judge to "grant them protection from your magistrates and yourself (sic)."  In other words, they're writing the judge to ask him for protection from... (wait for it)... the judge.

What's also interesting is looking at the fax number at the top of the page, the 510 area code listed belongs to Richmond, CA, which is near Oakland.  A friend who looked into it stated that the numbers found with that prefix are mobile phones routed through a VOIP provider.  Just what you'd expect from anyone trying desperately trying to hide their identity.

Smells a lot like STGRB/Melisaa Douthit to me.  Time will definitely tell.
